media release

Dear Water Friend,

We're pleased to announce a bold organizational move aimed at bringing more people access to clean drinking water - combining H2O Africa's brand power with WaterPartners' nearly two decades of on-the-ground water project success.

Founded in 1990, WaterPartners is a U.S-based nonprofit organization committed to helping people in developing countries gain access to safe water. By forging partnerships with carefully-screened partner organizations and offering innovative financing through its WaterCredit Initiative, WaterPartners empowers local communities to develop and sustain solutions to their own water needs. Last year alone, WaterPartners brought clean water to more than 142,000 people in Ethiopia, Kenya, India, Bangladesh and Honduras.

Why the organizational change between our organizations? Our shared goal is less overhead to reach more people with clean water. Each organization sees greater efficiency in this combination because we can increase the number of people served while minimizing organizational overhead costs.

Under this new arrangement, WaterPartners will forward the mission of H2O Africa and also have stewardship over its brand and website. Funds raised on the h2oafrica.org website will support WaterPartners' clean water initiatives in Africa. By leveraging our shared resources, we will reach many more people in need of clean water.

We're excited to have joined forces to tackle the global water crisis. On behalf of WaterPartners, H2O Africa and the people we serve, thank you for your compassion and action on behalf of those in need of clean water!

With your continued support, together we can achieve the day when everyone in the world can take a safe drink of water.

Sincerely,

Jim Van Eerden
Chairman of the H2O Africa Foundation
